Why the Legal Battle of the Maetreum of Cybele Over Property Tax Exemption is of Vital Importance to all Pagans.

An all out culture war is being waged across all of America right now.  A war on the rights of women to control their own bodies, workers to collectively bargain for fair wages and treatment and a war on the middleclass itself to turn America into a society of peasants and overlords.

The Maetreum of Cybele has been involved for the past four years in this war.  Our case is as ideal a battle ground for the rights of Pagan traditions to be fully recognized as legitimate as it gets.

The Maetreum of Cybele is incorporated under New York Religious Incorporation law.  The Maetreum property is owned by that religious corporation.

The Maetreum of Cybele is fully recognized by the IRS as a 501 c3 Religious Charitable organization and by the State of New York as well.

The Maetreum of Cybele has a long verifiable history and in fact the Cybeline Religion was the only "official" religion of the Roman Empire for more than 500 years.  Arguably, in the classic history sense, we are far more "legitimate" than the Catholic Church.  Even the Vatican was named for the Cybeline Religion, it means seers in Latin and the first occupation of the Vatican hill historically was the Roman Phrygianum (convent home of the Cybeline priestesses)  We are the seers referred to by the term Vatican.

The modern Cybeline Revival has a fully fleshed theology available to all on the internet and in a published work as well.

The Maetreum of Cybele has always been dedicated to charitable works and has been doing them since long before being incorporated.

We dotted all the legal 'i's" and crossed all the legal "t's" unlike many other Pagan groups who have been less formal about their organization so we are the ideal Pagan group to fight this fight on the behalf of all minority religions.

But we are poor.  We need help keeping this legal battle going to the finish.  Please, please, please, paypal anything you can to centralhouse @ gallae.com (remove spaces)
